The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of RiverStone’s core IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on day-to-day operational stability, infrastructure change delivery, and support escalation, ensuring that platforms remain resilient, secure, and fit for business demand. 
The role may involve collaboration with cross-functional teams, direct client interaction, and strategic input based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and support core infrastructure platforms including Azure, VMware, Windows Server, Networking and storage platforms
  • Perform server lifecycle management, including Build, configuration, commissioning, and decommissioning, Patching and vulnerability remediation, Performance monitoring and tuning
  • Deliver infrastructure changes safely through established change processes. 
  • Act as an escalation point for Service Desk issues, supporting incident resolution and problem investigation. 
  • Support on-premises and datacentre related activities, including vendor coordination where required. 
  • Maintain system reliability, availability, and security in line with organisational standards. 
  • Contribute to operational resilience activities, including DR testing and readiness. 
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring infrastructure controls are implemented and evidenced.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role within a financial services or regulated environment. 
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Windows Server administration, Virtualisation platforms (e.g. Citrix/VMware), Microsoft Azure fundamentals, Veeam or other backup technologies, Storage Technology
  • Solid understanding of: Active Directory and Entra, Identity and access management, Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Experience supporting production systems in a regulated or business critical environment. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues methodically and under pressure. 
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience   supporting Microsoft 365 services. 
  • Exposure   to vulnerability management and security patching processes. 
  • Hands-on   Disaster recovery experience, including Supporting DR testing activities, Recovery   procedures for infrastructure platforms and Understanding of RTO/RPO concepts   in practice
  • Relevant   certifications (Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent).
  • Experience   supporting a Network Access Control solution, ideally Forescout
  • Must be able to work out of one of the following offices: London or Brighton. A minimum of four days in the office.
