Senior Claims Adjuster – International Casualty

Responsibilities
In this role at RiverStone, you will be responsible for delivering prompt, accurate and consistent adjustment, reserving and settlement of International Casualty claims across RiverStone’s Lloyd’s and London Market platforms. You will play a key part in embedding Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Conduct Risk principles into day to day decision making, ensuring fair outcomes and high standards of service. In addition, you will maintain strong awareness of Data Protection requirements, including the Data Protection Act and GDPR, and ensure all information is handled in line with regulatory and internal compliance expectations.- To achieve prompt, accurate and consistent adjustment, reserving and settlement of International Casualty claims across RiverStone’s Lloyds and London Market platforms:
- Promptly agree valid claims for payment
- Create, review and implement strategies to expedite settlement of valid claims
- Identify, investigate and raise coverage issues where applicable
- Adjust reserves in line with coverage, liability and quantum factors per the RiverStone claims guidelines.
- Ensure reserves and claims data is held accurately on the claims system at all times
- Liaise with internal departments such as Delegated Authority and Claims Hub to ensure valid claims are progressing towards settlement
- Manage relationships with external experts including legal experts within the relevant jurisdictions
- Review and tackle static claims/reserves
- Effectively utilise diary system for key actions, recoveries and other claims matters.
- Establish strong working relationships with external delegated claims handlers
- Maintain knowledge of market issues, and legal updates relevant to International Casualty class
- Escalate and report to management on claims above financial authority or with potential to materially impact the business
- Participate in and contribute towards ad hoc projects to further the companies achievement of its goals.
- Comply with all internal controls and procedures
- Have an awareness of the Treating Customers Fairly (“TCF”) and Conduct Risk strategies
- Have an awareness of Data Protection legislation, including the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulations
- On a temporary or permanent basis you may be required to undertake other duties in addition to, or in substitution of, those listed in this role profile
Requirements
Competence:- Substantial International Casualty Experience
- Managing complex litigation
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Australian, Canadian and US legal systems
- Lloyds claims systems (ECF)
Skills:
- Strong negotiation abilities, with confidence in influencing outcomes
- Effective presentation skills, able to communicate complex information clearly
- Excellent written and verbal communication, tailored to a range of audiences
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Highly adaptable, able to respond to changing priorities and demands
