Project Manager

The role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects that align with RiverStone International’s strategic objectives, through effective management in accordance with established project governance and methodologies. Acting as a key representative of the business, the role involves engagement with external vendors and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects that support RiverStone International’s strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with internal governance and project management methodology.

  • Manage projects using structured, fit-for-purpose methodologies in line with RiverStone’s governance framework.

  • Create and maintain high-quality project documentation, including initiation and closure documents, plans, reports, RAID logs, and resource estimates.

  • Organize and lead effective project steering groups and cross-workstream meetings, including those with external stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external sponsors, stakeholders, and project teams.

  • Lead, organize, and coach project resources to ensure successful project execution and delivery.

  • Provide timely and accurate communication of project status to all relevant stakeholders in accordance with governance standards.

  • Deliver project KPIs and performance indicators as required, contributing to central project governance reporting.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks and issues to minimize impact on project outcomes.

  • Liaise effectively with third parties and partners involved in project delivery, ensuring alignment and accountability.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement in project processes and governance practices.

  • Ensure all project activities comply with RiverStone policies, as well as regulatory requirements including PRA, FCA, and external audit standards.

  • Identify and escalate risk events in line with RiverStone’s Risk Management Framework.

  • Take responsibility for personal development and continuous learning in project management and related areas.

  • Represent the business professionally in interactions with vendors and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Demonstrate awareness of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles and Conduct Risk strategies.

  • Maintain an understanding of data protection legislation, including the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years' of experience in project management and/or process improvement, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

  • Proven experience delivering medium to high-complexity projects, involving multiple workstreams and cross-functional coordination.

  • Experience collaborating across both Business and IT functions to drive integrated project outcomes.

  • Strong track record of leading and delivering complex insurance M&A integration projects and/or internal business change initiatives (e.g., IT, data, process improvement, regulatory/compliance).

  • Highly organized and delivery-focused, with exceptional project planning and execution capabilities.

  • Proactive in identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Experience managing projects involving external vendors, consultants, or third-party partners.

  • Proven ability to lead global teams and manage projects across multiple regions.

  • Skilled in preparing and maintaining high-quality project documentation, including plans, reports, and governance artefacts.

  • Solid understanding of project management frameworks and governance processes, including Agile methodologies.

  • Good knowledge of the insurance sector, particularly within the run-off space.

  • Proficient in using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, or similar).

  • Project management qualification or accreditation preferred (e.g., PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP).

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership.

  • Familiarity with merger and acquisition (M&A) processes, ideally within the insurance industry.

  • Energetic and adaptable, with a flexible and solution-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work in the Beverly, MA office a minimum of 3 days per week.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
